Scenes From a Quarantine, Part 4
April 21, 2020
I decided I’d take my accordion out in quarantine and try to learn how to play it. Of course I had to put on my German dirndl… because that is the closest region of garb I have, though it’s way off. Things: I need to replace the leather shoulder straps in order to embark upon this endeavor. I am going to try to fix the sticking keys first. And I need to build my upper body strength to work the accordion better. So… my neighbors have a little more time to not be annoyed by my playing.
Nutmeg. That is all. It’s such a cool spice. Grating whole nutmeg makes me feel like such a fancy cook.
This amazing cinnamon bread I made was about to turn into some vegan French Toast by way of this recipe. But I subbed the millet flour for some chickpea flour, because chickpea flour is eggy.
Soaking it up.
A sweet brunch after my office hours.
I am always on the hunt for some vegan warmth and this fleece is what I would create if I was able to craft my own. All the details of the North Face’s Campshire Hoodie are perfect! It’s super cozy, not binding, soft stretch on cuffs and hem–including around the hood, long zipper for neck comfort and ease of pulling over ya wacky hair. Elbow pads. And a cool print. It’ll be perfect for cool nights in Utah in August.
I tried out Thrive Market because they were offering $20 off $50. Sounds like a deal to me. They also have great healthful pantry staples, which I am always in need of. And who wants to go to the store these days?
My goodies.
How many non-dairy milks does a gal need? A lot. Just like she needs a gallon of nutritional yeast.
Getting ready for a summer craft, this old shutter is going to be a face of a storage cabinet.
Be careful of the shadow of Medusa. π This is was me with curlers.
More quarantine hair stylings
Angel was a nice quarantine highlight.
She played three of my most favorite songs, two of them back to back. This nice youtube guy posted them after I requested them. Because I recorded my screen without the sound! Doh!
Trying to support the eateries in my hood. My favorite Indian place was closed for several weeks… and I really felt it. Don’t ever leave me again, Bombay Grill.
Falafel and French Fries from Karam Restaurant… the best of both worlds.
And Thai from Top Thai… and the best dumplings in Bay Ridge.
In case you forget… there’s no place like home… there’s no place like home… there’s no place like home.
