Mermaiding It Up, 2020 πŸŒŠπŸ§œβ€β™€οΈπŸš

Back in quarantine I’ve been finishing up a couple more mermaid tops… because mermaid season is coming to an end unceremoniously… without a parade, without its collective weirdness–the culmination of my crafting. So I decided I’d participate in Coney Island’s remote Mermaid Parade 2020, a Tail-a-thon. But It was unfortunately to late to do anything but watch the stream. Wahh! But I got dressed up anyway.

At the start… and after…

The latest top completed today. I am finding my last few tops way too similar in style. The next will be a very different one I decided.

Tempted to grow these corners out even more in a wicked way. Maybe next time…

My teal full length top is complete but would only be suitable for a tween or very small-busted lady… or a narrow boy. Any kind of curve of the bust would make the top fit very awkward and unflattering.

I just love the teal and orange combination.

The net and the iridescent fabric serve as the top’s straps.

Gotta move some more inventory…

And my photoshoot! I couldn’t decide what hair I wanted, so I did all three. But now I am think I most enjoy the green.

But a ton of thick dreaded hair was also neat to have. Mostly because it is so different than the texture of my own hair–very fine and kinda thin.

Real on top, fake on the end. So weird that women wear fake stuff daily–like lashes and extensions.

Squad goals. But really, if I ever met another woman like me… I don’t know what I’d do.

Goodbye Mermaid Season. School and autumn are coming to usher in the cold and then bid this weird year so long.
