Final Stop in Rhode Island

Happened to see these fields as I head to Middletown for some food, so I stopped in to trespass in the sunflower fields. This was a field out front for you to pick your own…

No one was around, but me and the sunflowers… until the farmer on the tractor showed up as I walked way into the back fields in a confused attempt to see the fields I saw from the street

He showed me where the fields were and made fun of me a lot based on my astrological sign. It was amusing… Libras are crazy apparently?

Then he showed me the potatoes. This is a potato flower!

Along with the guided tour, he pulled up some new potatoes for me.

Finally, he directed me to one more field… they were such itty bitty sunflowers, but I was glad to end my trip with them.

For a parting gift, he gave me some potatoes to bring home. He called them “butter gold” because they apparently taste buttery and have the salty sea air within them. So you don’t have to add anything to them! I’ll report back on that.

Thanks for the sunflower farm fun, Rhode Island! Now it’s back to NYC…
