Carving Pumpkins {2023}

Did you know that the tradition of carving pumpkins comes from Irealand? They used to carve turnips to keep the spirit of “Stingy Jack” who was denied admittance in both heaven and hell and so was left to roam the Earth for all eternity. This tradition was then incorporated into Samhain festivities, the foundation of our modern day Halloween. (Thanks Encyclopedia Brittanica… throwback! High five to anyone who ever used a real set of encyclopedias to do their school work, though my family always had the Funk & Wagnalls encyclopedias.)

Here we are participating in these aforementioned Pagan (People Against Goodness And Normalcy) rituals…

Happy Halloween, ya P.A.G.A.N.!
