Abandoned Train Cars of Barlett, New Hampshire

These train cars are the main draw for this Vermont/New Hampshire trip, originally planned for February but cancelled due to snow. At the time I created a loose itinerary around finding them, I scoured the world wide web for their exact location to no avail–though now I found it within a comment strand on Reddit. But I searched the satellite maps of Google until I found them myself, following the train tracks of the area, and made a note of the coordinates.

Then I booked accommodations less than a mile from them to allow for easier access. I am happy to have had easy success in finding them, especially after the previous failed explorations of the morning. And the surrounding area in the scenic White Mountains was very nice. Like seeing a moose basking in a stream nice.

I just parked at the now-defunct station and walked down the tracks.

After 5 minutes, the train cars…

It seems they had been painted black, boarded up and then ripped open and decorated again…

In I go…

Beautiful colors

The light from the toilet

Wicker-like seats

Ceiling holes

So glad I found the Barlett trains!
