Vegan Treasures of Staten Island
Bin 5 in Rosebank

My vegan Staten Island reporting is pretty much blowing up. And so I am uncovering more vegan options on my neighboring borough, starting at Bin 5 in Rosebank: Michelin-Rated and considered “One of Staten Island’s top places to eat” by the New York Times, as their website proclaims. But more importantly, this quality along with thoughtful vegan options done well.

It was difficult to choose what vegan option to try on my maiden visit. But I went with the Chorizo Tacos. Three soft tortillas, soy-based chorizo that was flavor-packed and a cool dollop of guacamole garnished with cilantro. Fantastic quality that will have me returning.

Be forewarned, delicious chili oil will run down your hands as you chomp away. It’s telling you it loves you. Love it back with another bite.

Yum in your face.

Very pleased they have a house-made vegan burger made with chick pea and artichoke, ubiquitous Cauliflower Wings, Eggplant-Quinoa Meatballs, and a veganizable Panelle Sandwich.

Bin 5 is an impressive eatery and I want it to thrive. As the case with lots of eateries, this time has been tremendous challenge. It currently has a Go Fund Me up in the hope to stay alive. Support your local eatery with vegan options!
