Vegan Barbecue & Beer: Peach & Pine Pop-up
at North Fork Brewery

Peach & Pine Cafe is some of the best vegan food in the NYC area… but they’re on Long Island, throwing down impressive pop-ups in Suffolk county with their new food truck. On a day with a packed Long Island itinerary, getting to their BBQ pop-up at North Fork Brewery was a must.

I was worried they would be out of food by the time we came through and I admit to be under a state of panic until I saw their truck humming along in the parking lot.

And nothing was sold out except their gorgeous tarts. We ordered a variety of food and then got a flight of beer.

Time to eat!

Fried pickles were a great start. Breading stayed on which is the usual problem with frying something so moist. Crunch & great dipping sauce.

The chicken sandwich pulled out all the stops… onion ring, bacon, cheese, chicken patty smothered in barbecue sauce, with slaw on a biscuit. I only got to eat one bite since my friend ordered it. πŸ™ I have since dreamt of it.

Cheese fries were a must. They make their own cheese sauce. In fact, part of why they are so great is they make most of their food from scratch.

My BBQ Brisket Bomber–thick cuts of scratch-made seitan dripping in barbecue sauce on a bed of cool, crisp slaw on their mazing biscuits. It was heavenly–worth all the anticipation. I really can’t wait until Peach & Pine Cafe is a cafe-proper. Their standards of quality deserve a home.

Look at that buttery biscuit!

More heavenly bites: the cheese fries topped with pulled jackfruit pork.

It’d be just wonderful if they only did savory perfect, but their sweet is just as good. This chocolate chip cookie was perfection.

A truly special eatery, Peach & Pine Cafe is among an elite class of vegan eateries that get my deep devotion. ❀️
