Scenes From a Summer

And just like that… August. Traveling since the end of school, it has been nice returning to my bed. Yes, I took a picture of my reunion with my bed after roughing it so much on the road.

Other home goals was finally getting my craft desk built and my craft room in order… as much as I could. That means putting all my mermaid vendor stuff in a storage locker.

It’s still a packed room, but at least I can walk into it now.

Cooking for myself is also something I missed during my travels.

Here is the dish I made with all the food I froze before I went away… Kale, roasted rainbow carrots, and the potatoes from my landlady, who gives me all the excess from her weekly senior produce box, and the farmer I met in Rhode Island. Drizzled in tahini and a little maple syrup.

While I still had a car, I attempted to hit some spots long on my list, like Savage Sicko.

I was kind of disappointed as the chicken patty was of the frozen sort. But I suppose I should have tried something Latin-inspired.

Yay! I showered. Though I did my hair how I usually like to do it. Go to bed with a wet head and let my pillow style in during the overnight.

I know why the caged bird sings

Found these great shells abandoned on the beach, but they had their little critters in their shells still. Someone had let them die on the beach. Terrible. I follow Florida law when it comes to shelling. No Live Shelling!

The best parts of Long Island are still farmland.

Knuckles is my special buddy. Look how cute he is!

Coming at ya! I’m on a train… I can’t complain…

My curry kicks butt. My hips kick butt too. Finally a week of food I get to eat in my apartment.

And a sweet bite because I am constantly craving them and I just bought a cookie scoop.

Used this recipe to make these delish cookies.

Narrows Botanical Garden. Cuz I’m home.
