These Are a Few of My Favorite Things: Bangs

I’ve decided that today is Bangs Appreciation Day… just because. And just because I love beautiful things, including beautiful women, here are my favorite Bangs icons. Above, Hair Bang Royalty: Bettie Page.  Below, the sultry Louise Brooks, silent film star of the Roaring 20’s.

So I don’t know what Cleopatra really looked like, but all the Halloween costumes seem to have bangs, like Elizabeth Taylor’s version.  She’s such a fascinating historical figure.

Artsy pouty French Jane Birkin is a beautiful Bangs icon from the late 60’s.  Ok, so here is a series of French women from the 60’s.  I appreciate their style.

French musician Françoise Hardy.

I guess I’ll give you a blonde though I am more about the brunette bombshells.  Brigitte Bardot is pretty darn gorgeous. And the queen of fringe bangs.  And she is an animal rights champion these days.

My favorite film introvert, Amelie and her signature pixie bangs. Never has a movie captured the deeply awkward and richly vivid landscape of the internal world of the introvert.  That’s a bunch of my favorite things. Oh, she’s French too!

Quirk Queen Zooey Deschanel needs to be mentioned. She’s modern-day bangs icon.

I’m going to throw this random bangs women here for hairspiration.

Finally, me! As a little girl with bangs (and lipstick.. my Mom thought that was funny.) And me, last year, all Bettie-ed out
