More Vegan Macarons on Long Island

Vegan macaron alert on Long Island! Compassionate Cookery vegan macs are stocked at Jessy’s Pastries in Oceanside. So I was treated with an assortment of 6 after a particularly grueling week of teaching middle school students. Oh, and there’s a macarooooon over there, too!
I love photographing these delicate treats before devouring them slowly, making sure to check the interior’s cross-section as I chomp away. These are, after all, brand new vegan macarons to critique. Mostly organic and plant-hued, these aquafaba-based macarons are delicious. A bit denser than Queen Maresa’s, who is strictly no aquafaba, but similar in delicate flavor. And because presentation is so much of a macaron, they have a beautiful sheen on their cookie. I’m very impressed with Compassionate Cookery’s macarons. 
After, dinner at Jessy’s… a side of plantains.
Vegan empandanas. I am into any kind of fried bread product. This hit the spot!
