The Colors of Los Angeles

It was time to get away. With a friend in Los Angeles, it was an easy decision. Finally utilizing my flight benefits to go somewhere other than Home, I was leaving DC for the West Coast.

Getting Alfred Hitchcocky

The cratered, isolated West

As soon as I got to Thai Town in Los Angeles, we got Thai food–at the all-vegan Salaya.

Fresh rolls were delicious

Kevin’s soup looked real good. Steamed dumplings stuffed with tofu in a veggie broth with spinach and topped with fried crushed garlic

My Pad Thai… because a vegan Pad Thai is hard to find without omitting the main flavor enhancement. I got this dish because I knew an exclusively vegan place with replace that flavor. And I was correct! Though it needed a bigger spread of veggies, this was very satisfying.

Mango & Sticky Rice because it’s my favorite. This was perfection.

We attempted to go Bowling at Montrose Bowl, with its all-vegan menu. But unfortunately they were closing when we arrived. I did get to snap a few pics of the adorable decor. Next time!

I wanted to take pictures of palm trees, because I am a tourist and I get excited by seeing them.

We tried to go to a vintage tiki bar but it was closed for a private event. That was 2 for 2! Ugh. So I opted for this blue drink that was really for the bar’s LA Dodger special.

A stop at Burgerlords

Thankfully they have a veggie burger that is NOT Beyond or Impossible. And it is pretty darn yummy, not to mention photographic.

It was a quick trip, but well needed. Where should I go next?
