Some Yums Around DMV

There I am in my current DC apartment… but we are moving in a few days. I always need to have a go-to Thai place and I was happy to find Charm Thai Restaurant in Silver Spring, MD on my walk. I got the usual Pad See Ew with spring rolls.

And mango and sticky rice… This was delicious though the mango was a bit sloppily cut

A gorgeous soft and fluffy cat that came to say Hi to me and show me its belly

DC’s Little Food Studio has a vegan bite I wanted to try: The Vegan Egg Bake… Just Egg, garlic confit tomato, spinach in puff pastry. A tasty bite but reheated it was hard to have an even temperature in the center

Another stop at Pow Pow in DC because I really needed to try their deep-fried cashew cheese… but first their General Chik’n

Here they are, finally. They were better than I expected. A very crisp shell and oozy cashew cheese center

The ooze

A Blue Moon bowl from Nips Juice House in Silver Spring, MD–Soursop, pineapple, bananas, dates, and just the faintest addition of Blue Spirulina as the base wasn’t all that blue. I added blueberries, mango, kiwi and coconut

A stop in VA now (the V in DMV)… Greenfare Organic Cafe… real and fulfilling food. This is the Organic Jackfruit Barbecue Sandwich: Jackfruit, beets, onions, apple coleslaw, and mixed greens

This is the Organic Red Bean Lava Cake… yum

My trinkets in my travel bag… mushroom my guy won me, a “Jetway” Jesus given to me by a pilot I flew with

So many hotels

My new windshield visor LOL

Trying to stay brown… dying hair in the hotel room

Fun before a 4 hour delay would cut the trip short

I meet amazing people everyday. Like this woman who made me fresh passion fruit juice

And then offered me a Dragon Fruit she had grown in her yard in San Diego

Back to DCA to taste more of what that area has to offer
