Some Rochester Outtakes

With a quick trip to Rochester, here are some outtakes. Starting with this great meal from Red Fern–their Oktober Fest Special: Vegan bratwurst with sauerkraut, apple-raisin chutney & creamy mustard mayo on a Pretzel Roll with a side of German potato salad. Very yum.

Goodbye, NYC.

Almost there after a 50 minute flight. That’s the huge and very alluring Kodak plant. Once a heavy hitter in the area, the campus looks now like some dystopian nightmare. Not embracing the digital wave, Kodak is a bit of a remnant.

A Swillburger beet burger after many hours of not eating. It hit the spot. This is one of my favorite veggie burgers.

The area is ga-ga for the Buffalo Bills. So much that here is a cereal named after the quarterback.

Date night at Pokรฉ Sushi. He got the saki and I got a perfect cocktail: a Thai Basil Spritz… vodka, lime, Thai basil, cucumber, and jalapeรฑo.

The vegetable gyoza were definitely unique… in a delicious way. Spicy, adorned with the funky zasai.

The Easy-Eel is organic cashew butter, avocado and cucumber topped with a vegan eel sauce. Very good!

Inari, a must when a sushi joint has it. Simple perfection.

Breakfast.. pancakes in the cast iron.

So yummy and one of my favorite quick things to make!

Bowling with the kids. I legit got the worst score. Less than the 5 year old. LOL

I love bowling even though I suck at it.

A bummer to have to leave but I got this sandwich from Abundance Food Co-op. It has Grass Fed Butcher meat inside.

We did try to get some abandoned exploration in, but it was just a preliminary hit. I’ll post more extensively when we return.

Goodbye, Rochester! I’ll be back soon. โค๏ธ
