Some Final Pieces of Long Island

Spending time on the North Shore of Long Island, I saw some pretty things. It was very foggy! From the shore we couldn’t even make out the land across the way…

Dinner at the Onion Tree in Sea Cliff. This is the Bum tchoonth waingan (Eggplant & Apple Curry) “A long lost recipe – never seen in a restaurant – slow cooked Apples & Baby Eggplant – spiced with Saunth, Fennel, Coriander, & Reshampatto, served with Steamed Basmati, Phulka Roti, Kachumber, Cilantro” It was a bit too spicy for my taste… I thought the apple would be a sweet respite, but it wasn’t really.

Usies…

Southdown is always a must when I’m in town. They have great coffee and…

…amazing Avocado Toast, like worth the money avocado toast–refreshing.

More dreary skies

But over on the South Shore, blue! We took a visit to Robert Moses.

Roses on the shore

Crisp winter winds at the shore

Some abandoned things along the boardwalk.

We walked all the way to Kismet, a tiny little seaside town only accessible via water taxi or walking the shore.
