Secret Cove Beach on Lake Tahoe
Nevada

Is anything really secret anymore? Lake Tahoe’s Secret Cove Beach is kind of secret as it is not accessible by a concrete walkway connected to a parking area. You have to hike through make-shift dirt paths winding about 20 stories down. Trust me, it is well worth it. And be warned, it’s also a clothing optional beach.

But before, let’s look at the gorgeous lake from afar. The day before, when I drove past it to get to Reno, it was overcast. The lake was not as attractive without that blue to reflect. In fact, I had been dealing with cloudiness my entire trip! On this day, it was finally clear and sunny. And it just happened to be the day I set aside to get myself in the lake. So I had to pull off to snap a picture of its beautiful hue.

Now I am winding my way down to Secret Cove Beach… and I am very excited to see this blue.

It was breathtaking.

I knew I had to get in the lake. Luckily it was a nude beach so it’d be easy to change into my suit.

And my handy phone water-pouch, that is always in my suitcase, came in handy. Can you believe how beautiful these waters are?!

But it was sure chilly. The temperatures never got too high while I was near the lake. Maybe in the 70’s.

I’m in Lake Tahoe.

What a mind-blowing morning! I know I say this a lot, but I gotta get back here to explore this area more. Nevada’s side of Lake Tahoe is spectacular.
