Scenes from a Quarantine, Part 11

It ain’t over till it’s over, I suppose. And with a mostly honored mandatory 2-week quarantine after my Virginia trip, I have plenty of scenes for part 11… before I go and get myself another mandatory quarantine after my big summer trip. But with punches, we roll. Making lemonade… watching our droplets… embracing this “unprecedented” and ridiculous year o’ 2020 while wondering: what. is. next. ? More mango I hope. And more Hawaiian culottes.

Most of these two weeks was planning my trip…

And eating well, as per usual. This is one of my pancakes. Please observe its perfection.

Oatmeal, a red carpet for lots of goodies to walk down.

I’m going to leave this here mysteriously. It’s foreshadowing.

Cutting my own bangs has been an exercise of restraint. Then it wasn’t. (I had to leave to return my car officially. Sorry quarantine.)

Eggplant bacon, because I can’t stop eating vegan B.L.T. versions.

Zoom life continues…

Forgot to get rid of The Exorcist background. That kinda creeped us out.

Tofu scrambles to use all the veggies I got laying around.

Making a night photography lantern… we’ll see how it works.

Been wearing my 90’s shirts in quarantine. This is my Elliott Smith shirt for one of my first favorite Elliott songs.

So happy there are greeting cards to celebrate things that happen in real life.

A bit of the ol’ pantry turnover because I’d be skipping town. This is the best ‘whatever I have’ dish so far.

More wonderful oatmeal. Are you bored by this? Only boring people get bored.

More vegan B.L.T.’s. Give me some Dave’s Killer Bread and I will at some point have B.L.T.’s.

Another special Zoom call. Tower Records reunion. The people I met while working here in the 90’s changed my life. Our kinship has lasts decades.

This inaugural call would definitely be the first of more…

I was so pleased to learn that Caviar delivers all the way from outside Prospect Park–Coco Thai–who have my most favorite Park Mor. This is a dangerous discovery.

Quarantine viewing: I’ve watched The Godfather Part II a few times in a few weeks. Because: Michael Corleone. His dialogue is brief but his eyes need to get Best Actor award. They convey so much of this tragic character. Freydo is going to get it.

And after two years, I finally found a Bay Ridge everything bagel I really love. Besides the bottom half not having seeds, it’s top notch. Best in the neighborhood so far… Bagel Supreme.

Quick binge of one of the best t.v. shows. Holy early 2000’s! Never watch the American version, because this is too good to duplicate.
