Running Away to Jersey, Part 8
In the Pines, In the Pines
Double Trouble State Park
September 29, 2020

More New Jersey, because I really needed the diversions this past weekend. I wanted to check out Double Trouble State Park for a couple of reasons. For one, it has that lovely dark, damp and piney ecology being part of the Pine Barrens watershed. It’s the kind of place where a faery would live, where the forest moves with you like good company easing your burdens. It also had a collection of historic structures that capture its previous life as cranberry producer, including cranberry-filled bogs when seasonally appropriate. To follow are some shots of my peaceful meander back in time.

I will have to return for the bogs and to explore more of its trails. It was a nice temporary refuge for me.
