Rochester Vegan Food Dump!

Now that I live here, I am establishing food routines. Though cooking and baking a lot more than when I used to visit, here are some recent vegan bites from the very vegan friendly city!

Red Fern, the area’s only all-vegan restaurant really, has become an easy go-to for delivery. Here is their banh mi special, a satisfying and flavorful sandwich.

A bit too bready if I had to make a criticism. The banh mi’s traditional French bread is not vegan as it included eggs to achieve an airiness.

A night at Swillburger is still always a fantastic meal. The environment can be loud, but the food is well worth it.

I have been hitting up CoreLife Eatery, a health-minded chain, as I go about my errands these days. I appreciate the veg-heavy dishes and the easy of ordering vegan. This is their Sriracha Ginger Tofu & Quinoa… Roasted tofu, shredded kale, carrots, shredded beets, spicy broccoli, ginger, sriracha topped with a carrot chili vinaigrette. It’s got nice texture and a spicy kick!

A stop at Voula’s Greek Sweets for some breakfast. I got the Samos Plate, vegan style, which is a tofu scramble on a pile of lemon potatoes sauteed with vegan spanakopita mix and topped with their vegan feta.Β  It was way too assertive and actually hurt my belly a great deal. I would opt for the standard tofu scramble next time.

Ever since apple picking, I had been craving an apple cider donut. So I picked up a few at the area Whole Foods Market. Tastes like Fall πŸ™‚

Ok, this one is technically in Syracuse, but hey–it’s pretty darn close. I worked up quite an appetite during a gorgeous visit to a state park outside of Syracuse, so I decided I’d hit the OG Strong Hearts on the way. This is their AMAZING Thai Tofu Salad: grilled maple chipotle tofu, mixed greens, edamame, cucumber, micro cilantro, Thai spiced cashews, red cabbage, Thai vinaigrette

SoBol for a blue spirulina bowl! This has become a favorite. But you have to stop in, because if you order it via a food delivery site it’s like double the price. I love that they only use fresh fruit and not frozen and they can omit the honey…

Sometimes we pick up a cake slice at Red Fern… because I often am interested in their cake of the month. This is a pumpkin snickerdoodle cake. But like the last cake of the month, it was cloyingly sweet.

A visit to Strangebird for their cauliflower sandwich. I mistakenly got it vegan but I did not omit the vegan cheese, so it was a bit tainted. It has such great texture and flavor, the vegan cheese just messes that all up. Their fries are so perfect. I’ll have to return and remember to omit the vegan cheese.

Hubba hubba!

Our drinks

A Wegman’s trip when I’m super hungry meant I picked up one of these… a crispy veggie sandwich. I’d love to grab this on the way to hiking or some other outdoor activity

The vegan platter from Addis Ababa… an easy protein rich option when I need it.

A date night at Salena’s to hit up their all-vegan menu

Dreamy guacamole and chips

Some margaritas of course…

My Grilled Cilantro Tofu Tacos is marinated and grilled tofu served in flour tortillas and topped with pickled onion and salsa fresca. Yummy bites with very assertive flavor

Thanks Rochester for the tons of reliable vegan eats….
