Pumpkin & Chocolate Layer Cake

Well you know I have pumpkin puree in my fridge… so maybe you knew this was coming? More pumpkin goods. This layer cake would be dessert for Thanksgiving. Though my layers were a bit wonky (I didn’t measure and my floor is not level clearly), the contrast of orange and black made quite an impact.

All stacked up with nowhere to go. I used VCTOTW‘s recipe for chocolate and pumpkin cakes. They are the best!

Cream cheese frosting I just eyeballed.

Wanted a “naked” look

But I went pipe-crazy in the end… just on the top

Frosting kept its shape real well!

Now I was on my way…

My parents’ wacky cake. I took a picture to remind myself to try to make a vegan recipe for it. Think of all the soda possibilities!

Finally, in the cake! It was really yummy! Ok, now I am ready for Holiday baking!
