March Outtakes

March’s wrath is officially over. It is a tough month; but it’s the portal to summer. To follow some highlights that cannot be sorted elsewhere…

The cookie that can get me through an 8-hour day. Yardsale‘s vegan pistachio chocolate chip…

Ok, this is also work-related. Because March is one of the roughest months for a teacher… besides September. Thai lunch at Jai Dee.

Tempeh, marinating

Ok, this is all work food! We ordered tacos from Calexico. Mine, smothered in guacamole yet add avocado. Yes, that’s how I roll.

In cars (like the 80’s song)

Some ravioli from Pastosa in Eltingville, SI

The moon still out in the pretty sunrise

A new favorite obsession: Sushi Jiro‘s make-your-own PokΓ© Bowl… I get (pasted from order receipt) BROWN RICE, INARI (TOFU SKIN), AVOCADO, EDAMAME, YELLOW RADISH, SEAWEED SALAD, CHERRY TOMATO, PONZU, SWEET CHILI, PEANUT, CRISPY ONION, FURIKAKE (SEAWEED AND SESAME SEEDS), CILANTRO. It’s unbelievably good!

It’s Spriiiiiiing!!!!!

I’ll need another cookie

Next door from my dentist, a pre-cleaning vegan option at a rando counter spot in which one would not expect vegan options.

Another gorgeous shot of another PokΓ© bowl

Liking this hair day πŸ™‚ But I haven’t got a cut in a while. The forced social component has it being pushed aside. It’s so cringy having to participate in salon talk. Where can one find a salon where there is intellectual talk? πŸ€“

The late St. Patrick’s Day parade is a big deal in By Ridge. Tons of talented bag pipers. Though I did have PMS, their music had me tearing up on the street.

And so, some late St. Paddy’s Day pancakes… I did these on a whim but would do it better next time… with raisins, more caraway seeds, Irish cream whip, a side of potatoes. That would be a seasonal special at my diner.

A nice dinner at my friend’s place… coconut rice, sauteed kale, tofu in the best marinade ever

We went in the Big Duck, bummed about the rain messing with our list of things to do.

Making more stuff with beets. I was trying out a recipe I attempted to create.

Because there was too much moisture, I cooked some out in the oven, meatloaf-style

And then shaped it back into a burger…

Slowly working on my mermaid backpiece

Last day of March and we are observing April Fools Day a little early!

Bye, bye March… it’s April, one of my favorite months!
