Lots of Vegan Food in Rochester, NY {Part 3}

I’m pretty motivated to uncover all the best vegan food in Rochester, New York. And my list continues to grow… well beyond the well known all-vegan eateries.

On this most recent visit, I started with Hollycake House, a new all-vegan eatery and bakery. I got the California Bagel Breakfast Sandwich–Just Egg and tofu patty, avocado spread, tomato, red onion and Violife cheese.

Overall, the sandwich was just way too wet and mushy. Sure, delivery contributes to this but some texture variance would have helped. Avocado was brown and tomato was not fresh. I wouldn’t order one of their breakfast sandwiches again.

The $5.40 “Slutty Brownie” was certainly not the “BIG” showstopper promised. It looked like the last nub left in the pan. But it was yummy. I mean, how can it not be?

Onion rings. That’s all. ❤️

Swillburger ROCks my world. It’s my must-visit spot when in town.

Besides the arcade games is…

…the food… so damn good. My double beet burger (left) is a tasty thin patty that delivers all that you could want from a veggie burger. I wish there was anywhere in NYC that rivaled this burger! Add the tots and fries and you got yourself a meal that fully satisfies.

That pink.

Looking closer… how drool-worthy

With every bite, a picture–because: amazing veggie burgers are hard to find.

Ok, another repeat visit: Balsam Bagels has really great vegan breakfast options.

I can’t stand a wet breakfast sandwich so I ordered a thin portion of their carrot lox on a toasted everything bagel.

So thankful for awesome bagel option in Rochester.

And these cookies… they’re like cooked and uncooked at the same time. It’s heavenly–light brown with an ooey gooey cookie dough in the thick center. My favorite cookie in Rochester so far!

Marshall Street Bar & Grill has some great vegan options to go with their drinks. Here, their buffalo cauliflower sandwich does the trick. It’s crisp, breaded cauliflower drenched in buffalo sauce and vegan blue cheese dressing on a hoagie. Along with waffle fries, a perfect accompaniment to a cold pint of beer.

More pictures to show the texture of the cauliflower. Outstanding.

Flavors of Asia was another delivery I tried while hibernating from the negative temperatures. They have a wide range of Asian eats including taro cakes (traditional Chinese dim sum options), fresh rolls (often on Vietnamese and Thai menus) and banana-encased sweet sticky rice (a Thai street food love khao tom mat). The fresh rolls had brown avocado and minimal variety in veggies (mostly iceberg lettuce). The tarot cakes where delectable…. but the Khao tom mat

This was the best part! But I was (am) obsessed with the combination I fell in love with in Thailand so long ago.

We headed to RoCoCo Coffee for Black Cat Baking Co. goodies, which have been blowing my mind on Instagram.

Behold the Cruffin…. pastry in muffin form filled with hazelnut cream and coated in chocolate.

Pastry growing how it wants.

Cream.

Can’t wait to try more from Black Cat Baking Co.. (understatement)

First, let’s appreciate this sign posted at Stromboli’s Restaurant. We need to move on from this ridiculous epoch.

Now let’s also appreciate this two-sided all-vegan menu available. They use only housemade vegan cheese, thank goodness.

Some vegan mozzarella sticks, lightly breaded and delicate.

My stromboli choice was the “Chick’n & Spinach.”

Behold the deliciousness. I don’t know which part was the best–the fresh dough, the seitan chunks, oozy vegan cheese.

The California Stromboli–vegan cheese, cauliflower, broccoli and spinach–along with vegan ranch.

Can’t wait to return for their stromboli dessert

Polska Chata is an authentic Polish eatery in Rochester that has many vegan options.

Besides it being a pure delight in regards to service and atmosphere, the food was amazing. Here the Vegan Platter has pierogi, stuffed cabbage, borscht, and bigos.

Colorful and plentiful

Inside the cabbage is a hearty pilaf of lentil, rice and nut. Outstanding.

So thankful for such amazing vegan eats in Rochester. I’ll be back soon and my list is still very long!
