Vegan Options at Pizzeria Uno

This is Pizzeria Uno‘s new philosophy… and that means I have a reason to stop by. That and they sent me a coupon. And it’s just down the block. And my friend wanted to join me. Ok, ok! It’s the vegan options! I’d go to hell if they have vegan options. (Potential epitaph, right there.)

First the Mixed Berry & Walnut Salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Funny how good it feels to eat greens. Then, look at all these berries.

This is what I saw on the coupon. This pizza. It is spectacular! And I love that they don’t throw packaged vegan cheese on it, though it is available. The Vegan Garden Pizza–their hand-stretched thin crust pizza dough, topped with housemade pizza sauce, fresh spinach, roasted vegetables, mushrooms and dorati cherry tomatoes. Just look at all those colors. Real food vegan options at a chain. Now this is progress!

It isn’t a ton of bread either.

We also split the the Zoodles Primavera–housemade zucchini noodles sautéed with marinated artichokes, fresh wild mushrooms, dorati cherry tomatoes, fresh spinach, EVOO and fresh garlic. Topped with fresh basil and parsley. This is perfection. It’s got everything you want in there… I mean besides world peace.

It’s the artichoke. It send things over the moon. And since it is so hard to prepare from scratch at home, I really love it as an option in an eatery.

Eat the rainbow.

What a delightful lunch at a place I’ve always overlooked. Also, fantastic service. Nice to have vegan options sprouting up around my apartment. Excellent job, Pizzeria Uno!
