It’s Beginning to… Well, You Know. πŸŽ„

Though I am not finished with dressing up my apartment for the holidays, I am delighted by my progress thus far in creating a mid century modern holiday wonderland. It truly is just beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

After a hot tip, I checked out Newburgh, New York’s delightful means to kill many hours in the afternoon: Newburgh Vintage Emporium. It is a collection of antique dealers who have already hunted for all the coolest stuff. Sure as a thriftshopper, I much prefer hunting and making my own discoveries, but this endeavor can be very time-consuming. Newburgh Vintage Emporium‘s kinda reasonable prices seal the deal of worthiness. Here my stash of mid century ornaments and a tree topper.

Glass bulbs in all their beauty

Crafting some garland for my tree with some clear thread and pom poms. Much cheaper to make your own–plus many of the store bought pom pom garland is wool… and not uniquely rando in size and color like my d.i.y.

More garland, but not d.i.y. I am sure I wasn’t the only kid who used to like to walk around with the tree garland around their neck when they were young. For this year’s tree I needed white iridescence. And my neck did don it for a bit.

My tree is silver tinsel, but glows pink with its light. She is already full of vintage bulbs and I will be scoring a whole bunch more from my folks this weekend. I may be one of those people who keeps their tree up well into the new year.

All Bing-ed up with no place to go

This would be my Christmas card if I hadn’t already had one printed.

My pom poms are looking good

Happy Holiday season, 2020!
