Into the Desert Wilderness
On the Road

Though I needed the Kelso Dunes in the Mojave Desert for a backdrop of a special photoshoot, I only stayed briefly. But these hours were my initiation into the road, an offering to wild time… time that exists outside the constructs of tedium-impractical, untainted, and because of these, unsustainable. Its contrast, its expiration strengthens its magic.

After the Mojave desert, I was on Route 66-happily-as on it and alongside it, the varied reverence of the journey.

So in love with the road, I want to take pictures inside of it. Like a lover it cuddles to my form.

Sights along the way: The desert town of Amboy, California-a boom town of Route 66.

The Buddha

In Twentynine Palms, California is an art installation by artist Jack Pierson. It’s art! Make of it what you will.
