Into the Desert Wilderness🌵
Route 66 Roadside Decay

Traveling Route 66 you’ll see evidence of its faded glory–in physical form. The construction of Interstate 40 made it impossible to travel its entirety; it bypassed some of Route 66’s stops leaving them suspended in a dead road, leaving their roadside stops left to decay. To follow, some of that decay.

Unnamed cafe in unnamed town

Clown scat

Inside the auto body shop

Painted gas station

It’s interior was a smelly dump of refuge

These unexpected stops of abandonment make me wish I had more time. But my itinerary was a packed one. One day I will travel Route 66 with no other destinations, no other constraints.
