Holy Land USA
Abandoned-(ish) Religious Theme Park in CT
August 11, 2019

Holy Land USA in Waterbury, CT is on the up and up! Which, yeah sure, is great… but not when you specifically visit to take pictures of a decaying theme park. Yes, since my last visit 3 years ago, things have changed quite a bit. It seems they are getting ready to reopen the place. Brush and debris has been cleared everywhere, many of the concrete structures have a new coat of paint and roads seem slated to take on vehicles, including markings of a potential parking lot. Besides this, their website now invites you to stroll the grounds by foot during daylight hours. Much easier than my last visit when I feared the fuzz not forgive me my trespasses (See what I did there?) So here is it this time around, with some work done… before it is even more cleaned up.

But c’mon, a place like this will always be creepy.

A cross surrounded by barbed wire. Heh.

Just around the bend, its old sign. Facing this would be the new parking lot.

Holy Land USA needs a “Stay Weird” campaign.
