Hither Hills State Park, Montauk, NY
Night Version, 2021 Season

Even though there was just a slither of time that we shot the stars on the first evening at Hither Hills, arriving home with the sky on my memory card was invigorating. And I can’t wait for another star shoot. Though the whipping wind shook my camera, just seeing the sky so plentiful with stars has me excited for my next excursion, a very special excursion that involves some wardrobe considerations.

The campsite is in no way a dark sky location as light sources are everywhere–mostly other campsites, which are packed in sardine-like.

Though the wind was stronger there, it was more peaceful to shoot on the shore where the lulling sounds of the ocean and body-hugging sand was comforting.

You can just make out the ocean…

I’m thankful for the stars I captured, because all is in honor of them… and not me. Astro season 2021, let’s do this! 🌟🌟

    • Should be. Though the check-in times are brief prior to Memorial Day, there was someone there in the morning. General store also opening after Memorial day.
