Happy Lunar New Year π§§π²
Year of the Dragon
February 10, 2024
When I made the snowskin mooncakes a few weeks back, I knew that I would make another batch again soon. And so I did even sooner than I thought! I made a batch for my old landlord and friend in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn–a sweet Chinese woman who I had grown close with while living under her for 5 years. She would always bring me bags of rice, potatoes and oranges from her box from the senior center. And so I would send her some festive treats in honor of the Lunar New Year.
The dough. I’d keep it plain this time, no colorings.
The matcha filling came together nicely. Now I was all ready to press!
In the process, I would make more than I would send because the kiddos liked them, surprisingly.
They came out quite beautiful
So lovely
The magical match innards
And she enjoyed them during her festivities. Such things fill my heart! Happy Lunar New Year!
