Baby You’re A Firework
Coney Island Love

Coney Island is one of my favorite NYC places to take pictures. There’s always a lot of color, always a lot of excitement. It is pure summer. To follow, a collection of Coney Island love notes.

Friday fireworks from afar.

We watch things explode.

We watch people watching things explode.

Take aim.

Outside Coney Island’s Circus Sideshow. I know that I would have been the type to run away and join the circus. Or at least ride the train cars west. Ah where to funnel my wild spirit in these times of lobotomized hearts and heads?

Bang, bang–I shot me down. And I’ll do it again.

Enjoying the fun house mirror in the Coney Island Museum. I highly recommend this stop. It’s a small space but rich with wonderful artifacts.

I wonder… if I’ll ever stop taking pictures of the Wonder Wheel.

Finally, the Friday Fireworks up close.

And here’s a throwback to the Friday Fireworks from almost ten years ago!

Finally… before all this new fangled technology I took pride in recording video clips of the things that I enjoyed on VHS tapes. I’d make rough and layered “visual mix tapes” of things because there was no way to edit it easily. As I look into getting them all digitized, here is a modern day one featuring Coney. ❀
