Carlee’s Place of Borrego Springs, California

Carlee’s Place has been serving the Borrego Springs community since 2010… but it seems longer. The place is timeless, cradling a familiarity and ambiance that is inexplicably comforting.

So it is wonderful to see the “vegan” markings on its menu!

First, a Coke. It’s been years since I had a Coca-Cola. Something about the heat of the desert convinced me to get one.

The Vegan Caprese Salad… grilled seasoned tofu then chilled and served with tomato and fresh Basil, drizzled with balsamic vinegar with a salad of green dressed with a chili citrus vinaigrette. Needed some more seasoning but boy was it wonderfully delicious.

For sustenance, I got the Beyond Burger. It did the trick in this situation…
