Beet Burger in Bay Ridge

It took me a while to finally eat the vegan burger at Beets & Carrots in Bay Ridge. They had foie gras on the menu… and veal. The production of these two “foods” are reprehensible to this vegan. Both of these items are now off their regular menu, though a ton of other Meaty McMeaterton dishes are. But the place has Eastern European roots and, hence, culturally traditional foods. I was pleased to have the vegan notation on the menu and the housemade status of the burger, especially in this new world of let’s cook up an Impossible Burger and call it a day!

The burger blew me away. Flavorful and hearty with attention to detail throughout–dressed greens, sauce, pickled stuff. And did I mention the delicious hand-cut rosemary French Fries? This place satisfies a very common craving I get. And the service was also wonderful.

My new favorite burger is only 5 blocks away! Thanks, Beets & Carrots.
