Authentic Thai Street Food On Long Island

Sripraphai brings delicious real Thai dishes, including Thailand’s street food staples, to Long Island. Besides the authenticity, they have a tremendous menu, including a designated vegetarian section and, my favorite, real Thai desserts.  And they note all their dishes use of egg and fish sauce which is often tricky with Thai food.

Khao Tom Mad (ข้าวต้มมัดไส้กล้วย)
Food fuels all five senses, so it is no wonder our food memories remain vivid through the years. I fell madly in love with Khao Tom Mad when I was in Thailand in 2008.  It floors me that I can get it here on Long Island. Sweet coconut sticky rice with a banana inside… and a few black beans. So many memories encased in these banana leaves…

Kanom Gui Chai (ขนมกุยช่าย)
Thai chive pancakes are a bit easier to find, but no less deliciously brimming with nostalgia. Deep-fried chives in creamy glutinous flour is the best of both texture worlds.

Khao Neeo Mamuang (ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง)
The most delicious ripe mango next to a sweet coconut sticky rice.  This is the world’s perfect dessert.

Thanks Sripraphai for amazing real-deal Thai!  I’ll be back for more soon.
