On my NYC-area bucket list was Cellar 335, a hip tiki bar and restaurant in downtown Jersey City, New Jersey.
Tiki decor is just one part of why I seek tiki establishments. The design is an art, then comes the creative and fun libations…
Elbows on the table, ready to partake in adult beverages of the celebratory kind
It was the Oaxacan Tiki Hut that lured me in… a huge conch filled with mezcal, rum, bitters, strawberry, grapefruit, passion fruit and lemon–meant to be shared with 2-3 folks. Set before us all aflame, we dove into the bendy straws with maybe a bit too much enthusiasm.
Ok, I’m cut off!
Would love to make it back to Cellar 335 and pace myself a little better. There are so many cool drinks I’d like to try.
