🎊 Happy New Year to Me
Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh

The Homewood Cemetery has got what I like in a cemetery–it was founded in the late 1800’s, its grounds are Lawn Park style, and it’s full of gorgeous trees in peak foliage. And when you enter bright and early you can watch the bright streams of sun penetrate the morning fog. To follow is my morning amongst plenty of joggers, photographers and speed-walkers in one of two Pittsburgh’s city cemeteries.

    • Thank you so much! Many of these graves are very old and likely no more kin are left. In my observations flowers are present for new burials, holidays, birthdays and anniversaries, but are otherwise not that common. But it could be because many cemeteries have floral regulations and wilted flowers are cleared by staff. Sometimes visitors place rocks on top of headstones to mark their visit. I see that often.

      Enjoy the weekend!
