π Happy New Year to Me
Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh
October 22, 2020
The Allegheny Cemetery has a beautiful set of angel wings on its grounds–enormous feather-brushed bronze. The striking Porter Angel marks the resting place of Henry Kirke Porter, a congressman and businessman who died in 1921. She’s long been on my list of must-sees. And she was worth it.
Pretty face, sculpted by a woman
Those wings though
Another angel. I admit I barely covered a tenth of the rural cemetery’s expanse, feeling a bit constricted by an appointment in the abandoned Yellow Dog Village–more on that later. But I know that I will be back in Pittsburgh…
Such an odd epitaph
The fabulous Faith, Hope and Charity ladies… but usually there is a Love figure too. Where is the loooove?
I loved this sculpture.. consolation
Can you tell I am laying under this tree?
Oh, my delicious breakfast from Reed & Co, all-vegan quality eats. I got the Carrot LoxBagel—Toasted bagel with house made carrot lox, capers, cashew spread, pickled onions, & dill. Β
