Yet Another Stephen Espo Powers Post

Kinda love this guy, like all fanboy-like. But more so, I suppose, I like what he creates. So I finally got my butt out to his space in Downtown Brooklyn during one of his free screen print events! And the design is my most favorite of his sentiments.

First, outside. I like this picture because it is one I can look back on and note how much has changed. “Gee, remember when taxis drove on the street and not in the air? Remember street? Look at that stop light, so retro.” Plus you can see the open door and the line forming.

Omg, free Modelos! Don’t mind if I do day-drink.

After putting my garment in line for screening, I took in his work. The space was packed, but I managed to not get anyone in my pictures. But I had such nice conversations with others waiting for their prints.

Then he started signing prints that I couldn’t afford.

Yay, the guy is getting my dress ready for printing. I was watching this guy screening for quite some time, impressed with how carefully he positioned all kinds of things lovingly underneath the screen–like each one was the first.

My dress done and being handed off to dry for a little bit. And the artist and that Eraserhead hairdo.

To art.
