Palau de la Música

Barcelona’s Palau de la Música is drop-dead gorgeous. It is in the style of Art Nouveau and, astonishingly, was constructed 1905 through 1908. It is a World Heritage Site determined by UNESCO, which is a big deal. I just had to see its decorative combination sculpture, mosaic, stained glass and ironwork… and I’d be able to visit on a self-guided tour for a brief fee. This just meant I could sit in the theater and bask. And when the guided tour guide came in, I got to also hear the glorious pipes of the organ fill the room with mesmerizing sound. Also included is the balcony where you can see parts of its exterior beauty.
