Museo Nacional del Prado

There are certain line-ups that are pleasant. Being on a long line of folks who want to look at art is one of them. Every Friday Museo Nacional del Prado is free between the hours of 6pm and 8pm, when they close. And even spending 2 minutes gazing upon the countless rooms of masterpieces makes the line to enter at this time worthwhile.

There was so much to see. It’d take many, many visits so don’t even attempt to rush about. Every room demands you slow down.

Goya, Greco, Dali, Rubens, Caravaggio, Picasso, VelΓ‘zquez… to names just a few.

And sculpture as well.

An early version of the Mona Lisa, quite surprisingly.

A wonderful way to spend two hours in Madrid. I hope to come back to this museum as it was completely overwhelming.
