Vegan in The Bronx’s Bodegas

The Bodega is an important comunity space… maybe most so in The Bronx more than any other borough. And Plantega is on a mission to stock bodegas with all-vegan foods and extend their menus to include vegan versions of bodega grill classics. On my day trip to The Bronx, I checked out two bodegas’ signage, each with their own second vegan-style name. Flabbergasted and enthused, I basked in the vegan-friendliness to dorkish levels.

2.) My Deli’s Vegan Deli & Grill at 1201 Castle Hill Ave The Bronx, NY 10462 (a few doors down)

The signage was heart-warming

This is the bodega I ordered from because all of the v-bombs…

I should have counted the “vegan”s!

It was even on the counter boy’s shirt. This kid was a sweetheart. I was happy to hear of the separate grill.

The Plantega fridge! Apparently the Just Egg was flying off the shelf. He had just stocked it not too long ago.

I got the fried chicken sandwich.

And it hit the spot!
