Vegan in Provincetown, Massachusetts

Provincetown is on Cape Cod’s most northern tip. Well known as a very friendly LGBTQ+ travel destination, the good vibes on the streets during Pride Month was palpable. I stopped in briefly for vegan options as they seem to be the best on the Cape. Here is a brief report from my visit.

First, look how amazing Massachusetts route 6 gas station treats are! Vegan Rob’s, Bobo’s, and Justin’s, yes ma’am.

A nice breakfast spot, Grab ‘n Go Health Bar has plenty of healthful raw options. I didn’t partake, but filed for another visit.

I Dream of Gelato, in the Aquarium Marketplace, has several vegan gelato options clearly labelled.

Also in the Aquarium Marketplace is another vegan option: Tween the Tides, an all-vegan counter offering street eats.

I really wanted a vegan lobster roll and thought it was a big miss to not have something regionally-inspired on the menu! But I got the Mushroom Scallop Po’Boy, because it was seafood-ish.

Here is the Mushroom Scallop Po’Boy, a traditional New Orleans Style Po’Boy made with mushroom “Scallops” and topped with lettuce, tomato, a very delicious spicy remoulade. It loved the crisp mushroom scallops, but there weren’t enough of them and, relatedly, a bit too much bread.

To make the most of my visit, I also got another sandwich from The Canteen, saving most of it for later. The Gorman is two types of vegan cheese, fried onion, chive (mine was MIA) and everything seasoning.

And I grabbed one of their vegan Pink Lemonade sandwich cookie.

Tastes exactly like Pink Lemonade! Yummy in a low-brow way.

The sandwich was mostly packaged cheese. Could have used a bit more imagination, but I really appreciate the option.

Great initial report of vegan options in P-town! I hope to come back to explore more eats soon.
