Vegan Girl Scout Cookies Exist

DSC_0081Did you know that vegan Girl Scout cookies exist? Yes! Four varieties, too.

DSC_0086Here is the scoop on vegan Girl Scout cookies. ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers are the only two licensed Girls Scout bakers in the country. Little Brownie supplies most of the east. None of the Little Brownie Bakers cookies are vegan. Unfortunately. All of those nostalgic varieties–read: Samaos–are not-vegan. But the ABC Bakers, who supply the west coast, have four varieties: Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties (just like Tagalongs), Thanks-a-lot‘s, and Lemonades. So where does a vegan score these cookies from the west? Ebay, of course.

DSC_0070I was really excited to try the Thanks-a-lot, chocolate-dipped shortbread. They tasted  reminiscent of Keebler‘s Fudge-striped cookies, which I loved growing up.

DSC_0065Then there’s the Peanut Butter Patties, the vegan Tagalongs. Chocolate-covered vanilla cookie and peanut butter. A yummy bite of nostalgia.DSC_0060

DSC_0079The last variety is the Lemonades. Vegan cookie dipped in lemon icing. I can’t believe I’m eating Girl Scout cookies!
