After lots of middle of nowhere driving, it’s nice to roll up for a proper vegan meal. Vegan Food House in Dallas is one of those places you wish you can have a few days to taste their offerings.

I got the Chick’em & Grits–deep fried mushrooms piled on cheesy grits with a side of Garlic Toast. It really hit the spot.

The mushroom had a nicely crisp breading but was a bit difficult to cut… with my teeth and with the plastic utensils that were the only options for dining in.
