Vegan Comfort At Greedi Vegan {Crown Heights, Brooklyn}
December 15, 2018

I have a hard time keeping up with all the vegan options sprouting up! But eateries with vegan in the name cause a bit more urgency. I finally got myself to Crown Heights, Brooklyn for Greedi Vegan, a vegan comfort food counter space created by founded by a long time vegan who used to work in the fashion business. Like the Yelp reviews mention, she has a disarming, benevolent presence. (I am not a fan of “nice” as an adjective today.)
Above is my Soul Bowl with jerk eggplant, their gluten-free mac and cheese (Mac & Goodness), deliciously spiced Sweet Potatoes and some sautΓ©ed spinach. I devoured this without a second rest. Each component was just what I needed.

My friend’s 3 Beet Sliders on pretzel buns.

They get their baked goods from other vegan black female-owned businesses. Like Uptown Vegan, who I tried at the Fordham Night Market this past summer. I got a slice of their s’mores cake, because… well, s’mores cake is all I need to say.

I can’t wait to try their other menu offerings!Β
