Apple Butter Cinnamon Buns

Now back to apples! This recipe was the reason I wanted to make apple butter… Cinnamon buns made with apple butter both in the dough and the filling. After a huge mess up with the recipe the day before, day two I was back for the attack. [If you must know the absolutely ridiculous mistake I made on day 1, instead of the 1/2 cup of apple cider, I added a 1/2 cup of apple cider VINEGAR. Hilarious! I learned that vinegar does not allow yeast to rise… and of course tastes terrible.]

Apple butter spread

They were tough to roll as the apple butter was much looser than the cinnamon spread of a traditional cinnamon roll.

Another rookie move, I shoved them all in a pan that was too small.
