Though the Upper West Side’s Tiki Chick isn’t my kind of tiki bar (“my” meaning grimy, with retro credibility, not on the Upper West Side, etc) it is a version of a tiki bar, a kind I just have to embrace given my coordinates. And they’ve got a vegan sandwich option I have been meaning to check out. In spite of it feeling and sounding like a standard NYC bar, my enthusiasm for the capturing the tiki feel in photographs was more successful.
The Tikilafel was very good! Slathered in a Blue Lagoon vegan ranch, it’s a bit sloppy but definitely the best part of my visit. I think it was the sweet (pineapple chunks) and briny (pickle chips). I would get this to-go very often if I was closer. Especially at only $5!
Wardrobe changes were over-exuberantly tiki. I really love tiki bars!
This is an Alfred Shaheen.
I have been collecting clothing for going to my 50th state for quite some time now!
When else would this dress be appropriate?
And with that, I am on a mission to see more tiki bars in the northeast. Stay tuned!
