Throwback Thursday: Graceland Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois

It’s crazy to think there was a time I traveled when I didn’t have you, dear blog and reader, here to see the pictures. But after my patina love in Green-Wood Cemetery, I dug up these pictures from 2006.Β  The reason for my visit to Graceland Cemetery in Chicago, the figure above: Eternal Silence, a haunting bronze sculpture of The Grim Reaper which has oxidized quite beautifully since created by Lorado Taft in 1909.

Headstones and foliage.

Annoyed that you left.

And Eternal Silence, the reason for my visit.
