This Lil’ Piggy Went to Vegan Market

In Somerville is Arts at the Armory, who just so happened to be hosting a vegan shop-up as I was passing through.  Well then.  Don’t mind if I do…

I was pretty much famished, which made finding parking and dealing with the crowds a bit trying. But it was love at first bite with vegan chef Scott Rawdon‘s cheesy Cauliflower Grits with Tamari Gravy and Scallion Cornbread.  Perfection.

A really long line at Miss Vegan, a custom order bakery based out of Rhode Island, meant I would only take a few pictures.

But I had to wait in line for Celebrated, an all-plant based bakery also from Rhode Island, for their vegan macarons. I would do much, much more for vegan macarons. Rhode Island has some serious vegan sweets game!  Makes me want to overhaul my route home.

I got three–red velvet, cereal milk (!), and vanilla.  Here they are in the bright sunshine in my car.

They were sublime… Gosh, I am so floored by how fantastic the vegan baking game is these days.  Not just in Rhode Island, but everywhere.  Celebrated is top notch.  My preference is a less filling, however.

Yadda yadda yadda, there I was in New Hampshire, wanting a quick dinner. So a B Good burger and fires on the motel bed while watching the Weather Channel.  I guess I’ll also praise how fresh and plant-y chains are ubiquitous these days.  Goodnight, New England.
