The Sky at Sunken Meadow State Park
December 17, 2020
To follow, light in various wavelengths from Long Island’s Sunken Meadow State Park. The scouted location seemed to be the best option to view the Geminids Meteor Shower in light of a wide-reaching cloud cover and an emergency dentist appointment to make in Brooklyn the follow morning. Unfortunately the bright lights of the surrounding big cities blew out the sky, leaving me with yet another less than successful attempt at shooting a meteor shower. Lots of shells. I wish I had brought a bag.
There were gutted fish everywhere. Kind of disgusting to see their pained faces and filleted bodies.
I found a nice looking conch. Looking forward to winter shelling in Florida soon. Apparently that is when you get the good stuff!
My first picture of the evening. The clouds hung around most of the evening, much to my frustration. If you look closely, you can see the stars.
There is so much light that this 6 second exposure just looks like daytime despite it being well-past sunset.
Hello, shooting star
