The Memorial Art Gallery
Rochester, New York

I have been wanting to see the Yayoi Kusama exhibit at Memorial Art Gallery since I moved to Rochester. For one, it wouldn’t be as annoyingly crowded than it’d be New York City, a motivation I use often here. In fact, when we arrived on their evening hours on Thursday, we were two of just a handful.

We had to set a timed entry for Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room. Once in, it was a bit disorienting.

After, a quick stop at some of the other art. Cutting onions…

Outside projected on the gallery is Jim Sanborn’sΒ Argentum: Double-Positive, 2017

It’s a neat effect.

Finally vegan tacos from Brown Hound Downtown which is on the ground floor of the museum… black bean, tofu and mushrooms.

I’ll be back for the rest of the exhibits soon!
