The Common
Bay Ridge, Brooklyn
July 17, 2023

When my friend Angela says let’s keep it local, she literally means like blocks. So we headed to The Common for our last meal together before I leave Brooklyn. Though this brunch spot has a line out the door on the weekends, those of us who don’t work summers can enjoy relatively stress-free med-day dining and drinks.
We started with their hummus and pita… not the most exciting of vegan options (restaurants take note!), but a pleaser nonetheless. The beautiful presentation most certainly helped matters.

I got the Vegan Cold Noodles for my entree. This colorful dish was creamy peanut sesame sauce-drenched noodles, hummus, cucumber, corn, avocado, and pickled onion. Now I had just had hummus for an appetizer and their cauliflower appetizer used this same peanut sauce. Would love more varied vegan offerings, but happy to see the v-bomb on the menu in the dearth of vegan ops in Bay Ridge. Β

Some drinks at Cebu and many selfie attempts!

Love a giggling Angela

In the end, I am glad we stayed local and I got to check out a couple of Bay Ridge staple eateries. π
